I chose Anthropocene to be my ‘global’ project research theme. local project: Japanese theatre masks and culture of honne/tatemae

I chose my theme of research for ‘local to global’ project to be masks. I wanted to learn the history of masks in Japan to begin with, as I thought it has a broad aspect. Learning the history of masks took me into numbers of side-tracking; watching the masked theatre performances and extended stories around them, and it has become too interesting to stop.
